I’m a 35 year old single American woman about to embark in a journey to the Netherlands. My father and all of his side of the family are Dutch and live there and I’m moving to be closer to them. My plan is to go over and try and find a job or a business to buy so I can live there permanently. Having a Dutch father doesn’t benefit me as far as getting a residency permit in anyway since I am not a minor. I leave for the Netherlands on September 25, 2007. I’m going to stay as long as I can or hopefully find a way to live in Holland for good.
Update, December 10, 2007: I will be going back home on December 24th. My 3 months are up and I don’t have a legal way to stay in Holland at this point. My plan is to go back to Arizona and stay for 3 months. I can came back here legally in 3 months. I want to find a business I can start and have a business plan all figured out when I come back. Starting a business in the Netherlands is the only way I will be able to stay permanently.
